Seashore wishes

Hello again! Sorry it has been so long. In January I had a major computer update which threw EVERYTHING into a tailspin. We still aren't sure what it was all about but it appears to be resolved.

Now to catch up.
But first something new!

I have loved playing with the Waffleflower Postage Collage die. This time I scaled a couple of the KLM digital design images to fit the collage areas.
I began with the pre-colored gnome image and used Distress inks to create the rays around him. Then I used one of the cupcakes from Cupcake Assortment, colored it with Copic markers and added a sand dollar die cut. I sprinkled a tiny bit of Rock Candy Glitter onto the frosting.
I cut two small rectangles from some gel-pressed papers I made and used Gina K stamps on them (sentiment and footprint). I used 2 die cuts from my stash, added a tiny bit of shading with Distress inks, and a touch of Glitter brush. I cut 2 more layers of the images and stacked them behind the finished die cuts to give them just a touch of lift for dimension.

Stamps- Digital: Seashore Gnome, Cupcake Assortment from klmdigitaldesigns
Physical stamps- Ocean Minded and Gifts From the Sea From Gina K
Inks - Distress Ink, Versa Mark
Coloring medium - Copic Marker
Other - Rock Candy Crystal clear Glitter, black embossing powder, Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen

Enjoy your day,
Susan

Swinging on a Star!

Welcome.

I completely forgot to post this little guy. He was fun to make, and because he was a pre-colored image from KLM Digital Designs, I could spend the time making him into an interactive card. The printed paper in the background was from an old 12x12 pad I got at Michael's. I was stumped on how to use that particular page. Voila, along came this idea.

I placed a penny behind the lower section of the image so he swings back and forth easily when tipped.

Do you remember that song? So many artists recorded it, but my favorite was Bing Crosby.  OHHHH! I'm really dating myself.

Here's a video of the card in action.

I hope you all enjoy the weekend despite the weather forecast and the hurricane influence is minimal in your area. It's a good time to create!

Dropping you a line

Welcome.

Today's card is a quick card using one of the pre-colored images from KLM Digital Designs.

The Fisherman was printed on whit card stock and cut with an stitched arch die from MFT Stamps, then layered on black and trimmed close.
The blue water paper is from my stash (very old).
I the frame is a left over from a cut layer out of a black paper spattered with Mica Sprays.

Inside I printed:
Just thought I'd drop you a line.

Quick and easy...
Have a great day,

Susan

No Gnomes??!!

Welcome!

I've had some questions lately ... where are the gnomes?
They are still around. The KLM Digital Designs Team was  given a break while some new images for the company were in the works. I did make one for the Fourth of July.

This Patriotic gnome from KLM Digital Designs was colored using Copic markers. The sentiment is also from that collection.
The fireworks die (MFT Stamps- Festive Fireworks) was stamped with Hero Arts White pigment ink and colored over with Sakura Star Gel pens.

The arched frame is a die from MFT stamps as well.

The new batch of images will begin to hit the site in a few days.

I hope you visit and like what you see.

Until next time,
smile and keep creating.

Graduate Gnome ll

Hello there, and welcome.

It's hard to believe it's already nearing graduation time. I find it even harder to believe that my Grandson is graduating! The card I am sharing today was made with him in mind.

This is a fairly simple card, using the Graduate Gnome II image and sentiment from KLM Digital Designs and Copic markers. It is layered onto a red and black scrap from my stash and a red card base of Real Red (SU). I made a tiny tassel of black and red heavy thread and dangled it from the mortarboard. The tassel adds a little 3D fun to an otherwise plain card.

I hope you have a lovely spring day. Thanks for stopping by.

Magic Music

Hello there, welcome.

Today's card uses a little image and sentiment from KLM Digital Designs. The image was colored with
Copic markers and details were added with Sakura Gelly roll Star pen and a fine Multiliner. The image was die-cut with a stitched die and layered onto an alcohol-inked background. That little banner was made with a piece of music from an old music book found in a cellar. Really old...... 1915!

Enjoy your day, preferably with some good music.

Peace Gnome

Hello and welcome. The card I am sharing today brought back some memories😉.
I remember the 60's well. I was a teen back then, with flower power and tie-dyed rainbow clothes being all the rage. Now that I have seriously dated myself .... this card uses KLM Digital Designs image and one of the sentiments from the Peace Gnome

I used 4 printed images to paper piece this guy. The shirt and hat were cut from an alcohol-inked background paper. The glasses were cut from a scrap of holographic paper. The Peace sign was cut then colored with a Pentel Sparkle Pen in gold. The rest of the image was colored with Copic markers and layered onto a base image. I used an old Stampin'UP embossed specialty paper to make the "flower power" background.
The stitched layers were cut using dies from My Favorite Things.

Paper piecing is a great way to give an image depth. I opted not to add foam to the cut pieces this time. If you try this just make sure you use sharp scissors! Ask me how I know 😡.

Slow Ride Gnome

Good morning!

Well, it is here, at the moment.

This is the interior of the card I made. It is the perfect sentiment for how I am feeling today.

It looks like spring but it's chilly... in Vermont. Isn't that how it's supposed to be in Vermont? It's supposed to get to 50 by noon. I have a list of things to do before that time, then it's dog bath time😐.
But I digress. My last post was a quick project, this one not so much.

I spent some time coloring this KLM Digital Designs image.
I love the idea of this little guy catching a ride on the back of a turtle.  I think I'm suffering from cabin fever.

The background is from a day of paper dying. I think another day of this activity is in the near future!
It was created using Distress Inks on watercolor paper. The image is colored with Copic markers. I used a Tim Holtz sticker booklet for the front sentiment. I cut the phrase apart and once in place on the card front,  outlined the words with a fine Multiliner pen.

As I look at this now I wish it was possible to recreate these dyed papers. I love this one. Sadly I have no idea what I used on it. It may have just been a mop-up of the spray tray from another project 🤔.

Confessions of a carefree crafter.

Girls Best Friend

Hello there, thanks for stopping by.

Today's card uses a pre-colored image from KLM Digital Designs and a bunch of OLD stuff sitting in the stash! I typed out the sentiment and cut it with a stitched rectangle die.

The image was printed onto card stock and popped up with thin 3M foam tape. The paw print stamp is from and old Stampendous set, I believe. The prints were embossed in black and then I added a little bling with the rinestones. Done!

These pre-colored images are great when you need to pull a quick rabbit out of your hat. It usually takes me upwards of an hour to hand- color and image with Copics, depending on the complexity of the design. These images are ready to size, print and cut.  Very handy in a pinch.

Happy crafting,
Susan

New Year Squeeze the Day

Happy New Year!

Sharing a card using KLM Digital Designs Lemon Gnome and sentiment.
The gnome is printed directly to the white card stock layer and colored with Copic Markers.  The gnome was masked to create the background. I drew the lemon for him to sit on, masked off the rest, and brushed on Distress Inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, and Fossilized Amber. The clouds were created with a stencil from MFT and Speckled Egg Distress Ink.
I used Stampin'UP  Barely Banana paper and PTI lemon stamp from Tea for Two (both retired) to create the yellow background. The red paper is from my Cosmo Cricket stash.
Copics:    Skin - E000, E11
                Beard - YR21, 27, E37
                Basket -E30, 33, 35, 17
                Lemons - Y13, 15, 26
Glass - T1, gelly roll Clear Star and lemon colors
                Hat - R22, 29, 59
                Pants - YR21, 24, 27
                Shirt - B91, 95, 97, 99
                Boots - T2, 4, 7

Here is a variation using the same image.

For this project, I made recipe box cards, one section marker, and one recipe card.
The Copic colors are similar to the card above with the following exceptions.
Hat- same as lemons, seeds hand drawn with
a Multiliner and white gel pen
Pants - B91, 95, 97, 99
Shirt - YG23, 17, G29
Boots - E42, 43, 44, 47
Ground - Distress Inks Twisted Citron Mowed Lawn, Rustic Wilderness

Walking in a winter wonderland

Hello and welcome to my little corner of the card-making world.

At the time of this writing, it's still pretty green in the valleys of Vermont. Some of the higher mountains have snow, most man-made. We need a bit to make it a white Christmas... as long as it's not on the 23rd or other busy travel days! A little might be nice for my gnome friend here.

This card uses one of the new digital images from klmdigitaldesigns.com and a borrowed sentiment from the Sledding Gnome.

The background was made using the Ironed- off Emboss resist technique and Distress Oxide ink.
The snow and snowflakes were made with Pen & Gear Glitter Ink Jet cardstock.
The image was colored with Copic markers and details were added to his sweater with a white gel pen.

Copic markers:  Hat - E30, 41, 42     Antlers and ears - E81, 84, 87
Walking poles - C2, 6, black Multiliner and white Gel pen
               Pants/ mittens - E41,42,43,44
               Beard - W0, 2 , 4, Multiliner
                Sweater - B000, B02, B14
                Shoes - YR20, 21, 23, 27

Enjoy the outdoors... even if there is no snow!

Snowball gnome stand up

Hello again.

I liked working with this image so much I decided to attempt a layered approach with him He was easy to color the first time, so I figured I'd try to layer him.
This isn't as easy as some people make it look. It takes some planning! It took 3 images to create the layers.  the main layer is the full image, then the hat and face, mitten and snowball, then snow for the hat and shoulder. I used glittery laser printer paper for those. Once that was done there is a fair amount of color planning as well.  Whew! I'm not sure I'll do this again any time soon.
The actual construction took less time than planning out and coloring the layers. In the end, it came out great. I will make sure it is sent to someone who will not discard it quickly!
Paper: PTI Aqua Mist, retired Stampin'UP DSP
Copics:  BG000, 11, 13, 18
               E000, 01, 04
                E33, 39, 47 (beard)
                C2, 4, 5, 8, 100
Black Multiliner, Sakura gelly Roll Clear Star
Enjoy

Snowball Gnom Flurry kisse

Welcome! Are you ready for some snowflakes?

I LOVE this gnome and sentiment! "If kisses were snowflakes, I'd send you a blizzard!"
He is a digital image from klmdigitaldesigns.com, colored with Copics, fussy cut, and popped up with thin foam on a hand-dyed background.  Great as a holiday card, but I was thinking more for that long cold stretch in January, or even Valentine's Day!

Copics: E000, O4, E00 (skin)
            E41, 43, 44 (pants and mitten)
BG000, 01, 05, 07, Clear Blender (hat, coat, and snow)
            C0, 2, 4, black Multiliner pen 0.1 (beard)

Gnome Farmer and Fido

Hello there. Thanks for stopping by.

Today's card uses the gnome farmer and fido from klmdigitaldesigns. I detailed his shirt to look checkered, colored the image with Copics, fussy cut, and mounted the image with foam tape. The background is made using the glue resist technique. I added a bit of stenciling with pigment ink to see how it worked. I was pleased with the results.

There is a little plaid stenciling on the inside as well, where the image finishes.

Gnome Backlog 6 Beach Gnome

Welcome, thanks for visiting.

Yet another gnome in the series of backlogged images. This Seascape Gnome from klmdigitaldesigns is by far a favorite as I love to go to the beach in Maine.

Both of the background papers were created using a gel plate and Distress Oxide inks. The Salt Water Taffy base was brayered on the gel press and sprinkled with water using a fan brush. The domed section was gel pressed with Tumbled Glass and stenciled over with Salvaged Patina through MFT's Perfect Pool Water stencil. This piece was cut with the MFT Stitched Dome die. Unfortunately, this die is no longer on the site.
This sentiment is from the Oceans Sayings set by Stampendous.

The gnome is colored with Copic markers, fussy cut, and glued to the card.

Here is another colored example with a similar Copic color map.

Enjoy what's left of the summer, and go to the beach!

Gnome Backlog 5 Dancing Birthday

Hey, hi there!

It seems that I was in a birthday mood when I was using the pile of gnomes. We always need a birthday card, right?
This image is the heel-clicking Dancing Gnome from klmdigitaldesigns.com and is colored with Copic markers. The background is stenciled lightly with Distress Inks through the Lavinia Stamps stencil Pebble and MFT small Cloud stencil for the dust cloud.
The sentiment is from Art Impression Clear Stamps Be Happy Laugh Lines. This set is new to me. What a hoot! I need to check out more of these sentiments. The sentiment was cut with one of the MFT stitched fishtail strip Die-namics.

Hope your day is great, don't forget to dance a little today 😉.

Gnome backlog 4 Beer stein Birthday

Welcome! Thanks for visiting.

Today's card is a continuation of my attempt to use up the images I have already colored. I don't even want to think about the ones I have already printed or stamped that are sitting in a file waiting for some Copic love. I will get to those during football season. I love football and for whatever reason, I can get so much done while listening/watching a game.

This gnome from klmdigitaldesigns.com, naturally, is one of my favorites. I use him a lot for St. Patrick's Day, but here he's celebrating a birthday. He is colored with Copics and cut out on my Scan N Cut. The background is stenciled lightly using Lavinia Stamps stencil Feathered Leaf and Distress Ink. Lavinia's is a UK company but their products are available in the US. I order from Del Bello's Designs because their customer service is superlative!
This sentiment is from the MFT set Sassy Pants Birthday. I used my stamp positioner and Brushed Courdory Distress Oxide to stamp the sentiment, then used Versa Ink over the top and Antique Linen Glaze. I added a touch of clear embossing powder to the beer stein as well. The bubbles above the stein are made using a Versa Mark Pen and a mix of clear embossing powder and the glaze.

Usually, I pop these gnomes up with a little thin foam but with postage increasing every few months and the discrepancies in rates from one place to another I'm keeping them flat.
I'm off to do my design team work for August, so stay tuned for that. I'm just a touch behind ....again 😐   Have a wonderful day!
