The Apple and the tree

There is something to that the old saying, " The apple doesn't fall far from the tree."
Cookie ( oldest grandchild) was here this weekend and watched me do some quick sketches before chores. Before you could turn around she had designed one as well. I let her loose in the craft room and this is what she did on her own. We did have to do a quick math lesson on measuring to an eighth of an inch but she caught on FAST! Pretty good job for 8 years old, don't ya think?

Puzzled for a good cause

I made this card last year after finding Gina K's web site. She was working with my upline to create this great set. Part of the proceeds from it goes to Autism Speaks. Being a special educator, and working with a few autistic kids in our school, I thought it only fitting to have this in my collection. She has since done 2 more sets for causes. The papers and inks are all SU. I used the rock and roll technique on the small pieces to make them stand out a bit more. The other pieces are embossed and attached with dimensionals.

This was made with a Gina K stamp. It  is  a fun card to make. It fits in a standard envelope. The trick is to measure and apply the circle carefully so it does.
