Make your own sun

Welcome!
As you could hardly miss, if you follow my blog, it has done little here in Vermont this spring but rain, and rain, and ....you get it. I made some watercolored paper for a recent project that set me off on a wc background binge. I LOVE making my own papers. It has been so gray here I wanted to make the backgrounds sunnier than the days have been.

The next two projects use these backgrounds. For this project I used the old acrylic block technique.
This time I used my Tombow markers to color the block, sprits with water and apply directly to the watercolor paper. It creates such interesting effects and no two are ever the same, even when using the same colors. I'm never disappointed and rarely have to "ditch" a piece.

This simple card is for my sweet sister who was recently diagnosed and begins cancer treatments this week. She is the love of our family's life. Our Bubble, clown and all around positive person. Now it is our turn to be positive for her.

I used a Cricut image I had cut on my machine and attached to the card front along with a few sequin hearts and star. A little bit of baker's twine and it was done. Very simple but to the point.

The next card is equally as simple. The sentiment is also from the Cricut Designs available on the Cricut site with a subscription. The leaf is a die cut from Stampin'UPs  Seasonal Layer Thinlets. Layered on black and Kraft papers finished this card suitable for a masculine birthday card.

I'll post another couple of cards next time... they will have some brighter sunshine.

Wishing you a sunny day,
Susan
