Out of the Box

Hello everyone. I hope you all managed to stay warm in the latest cold spell. I had to break out my "playground duty coat" to let the dogs out.  It was -35 here with the windchill. I tested out the LLBean claim that the coat was good for that temperature. Thank goodness I wasn't disappointed!

I decided to spend the cold snap doing something new. I'm not a big Junk Journal person. I'm not a journal person, period. However, there is something I love about collage and putting all the fun stuff in this craft room together.
I needed to create a few Valentine's cards, and the mailman was so nice to deliver my Tim Holtz Paper Dolls in this weather, I just had to use them.
My goal was to use only things I already had made except for the doll. I saw this little girl and thought of my cousin. The paper is one of my scrappy backgrounds along with some stash flowers and other pieces in my box of "stuff". I have now learned that it's referred to as ephemera. I guess I'm too much of a control freak to get really into junk journaling. This card is about the extent of it!

There are so many great paper dolls in one package I decided to try another for my mother.
I would dearly love to make some of these from the hundreds of vintage photos I have of my family. I think it would require some software I would have to purchase and learn how to use. I'm too old!

Here is the card for Mom.

I really think I need to try using some of my photos.🤔
