Today's card was made for my best friend's birthday. She was my teaching buddy, now both retired we are card makers, sea glass hunters, and ocean (Maine) lovers.
I used a gesso resist technique with a Lavinia Stamps stencil, then blended on the ocean colors with Distress Oxide Inks. The layer was lightly spattered with water in the blue area. The stamps from Gina K Designs were stamped with Brown Archival ink. I added a few spots with Copic markers to suggest sand and some torn paper masking to create grounding for the stamped images.
We ran off to Maine for three days this week. It is always so relaxing to walk the beaches hunting for glass, even when there is none.
It was a great 3 days filled with sun, sea air, bird watching, wine, calories, sea glass, wine, calories, laughter, relaxation, calories, wine, friendship, and did I say wine and calories?😏
