Boy Birthday card 16 years!

It just doesn't seem possible that my boy, my little grandson,  all 6ft.2" and eyes of blue of him, is going to be 16! Where did the time go? I was really struggling with what to do for his card. He's past the cute little image stage. Then I remembered he liked the Tim Holtz inspired card I made for him last year, so I looked to Mr. Holtz to inspire me again. No neat feat as I only own 4 stamp sets and a few stencils.

I went to the die drawer and the "Umbrella Man" (Alterations-Tim Holtz) die cut fell out onto the floor. Serendipity!

I had this piece of background from a day of Distress Ink "smooshing". The yellow was perfect for the lightbulb glow. I stamped the bulb and the numbers from Stampers Anonymous  The Professor set in black ink. I clear embossed the numbers so they would stand out. The clock, (Stampers Anonymous Distinguished) was stamped in Chipped Sapphire Distress ink. I used and old text stamp with birthday definition to the right of the man. It may have been from SU, but I really am not sure.

The only text stamps I have from Stampers Anonymous is Tiny Text. I pulled a few of those and arranged them in my stamp positioner and stamped them in Pumice Stone Distress ink. I made a stencil from the Swirling Stars die and stenciled stars in Brilliance Galaxy Gold over the background. I brushed a Black Soot Ink shadow and Scattered Straw Oxide highlight onto the man and glued him in place. I used a little Black Soot to make the ground for him to stand on and a Copic marker C4 to create a shadow at his feet. I sponged a little more Chipped Sapphire and Old Paper around the edge to intensify the glow in the middle. Last, I used stickers from Tim Holtz idea-ology Metallic Sticker book. The circle around the 16 is from the frames provided in that book. I punched the center out with a 1/2" circle punch.
Thank you, Tim, for all your inspiration and encouragement!
