The Sibling Thing

There is a story behind this card. I am the oldest of four children. Older by a LONG shot. My brother is the closest in age (7.5 years).  He is a great guy with a deadly sense of humor that he takes great pleasure in inflicting on the 3 of us girls at every opportunity.

Now this guy is a strapper! About 6'2, military trained, black belt in Karate, an outdoor kind of guy. A real force to contend with.
And he's afraid of spiders! HATES them!!!

While in the middle of a sleepless night, I had an evil sibling brainstorm. Enter this card.

This was the inspiration. The black panel is from a Martha Stewart paper pad. The page had all kinds of text elements on the page. This one just yelled "TIM" at me.

Soooo, I cut out the panel and layered it on Kraft. I doodled the framing with a multiliner in black and extended the web with gold ink gel pen.

Now, this is the fun part. I cut the Boo from the same piece as the front panel. If you look closely at the spider you might recognize him if you are a Tim Holtz fan. The face is that of one of his Crazy Dogs. I colored the face and cut it out (sans ears), then I drew and colored a matching spider body. I popped the head up on a little foam tape. Helloooo Spidey!

You know what they say about pay backs......😉

I'll need to watch my back for a while.

Happy Halloween,

Susan
