Good morning!
I've been playing! How about you? I recently started watching a lot of Tim Holtz videos. He is so much fun! I loved the look of some of the backgrounds he was making. I'm a bit of a background junkie, in case you haven't noticed 😉.
That being said, I also like to be able to control my paint and details. This is not at all in concert with Tim's method. This technique is very freeing! I'm having a ball trying all this stuff! I've been a fan of the Distress Inks all along but still had that control thing going on ... until this week.
I only own one of his stamps, beside the dog one. I just loved the bowler in this one. My Grandson will be 15 this July (ouch!), so a more grown up card is in order. So I decided to use my new stamp and the "new to me" technique to make this card.
I used a tag made from bristol smooth paper. The Distress Oxides used were Antique Linen, Frayed Burlap, Vintage Photo and Faded Jeans.
the card base was an old piece of SU Confetti Cream card stock.
As I mentioned I have 2 Stampers Anonymous sets. The clock, bowler and collar are from Distinguished CMS371. The text at the bottom and the butterfly are very old, retired SU stamps. The sentiment on the banner is hand written.
I used a scrap of paper from my pile in a color as close to Faded Jeans as I could get.
The tag and banner were cut with stitched dies from MFT.
I hand doodled a line around the card with a Copic multiliner. I thought it needed something to stop the eye.
Trying new things is fun. I was getting in a rut, I think. Maybe I'll make a few more!
What do you think?
Susan
