Hello, welcome to my blog.
One of my favorite holidays is the Fourth of July. There is always family around. Sometimes it's just a few of us gathered for a cook out, other times it's a full on family reunion of 60+ at the Saint Lawrence Seaway campgrounds we so love. I do love a good fireworks display (sorry, my 4 legged baby).
The June release at KLM Digital Design has a new gnome for the celebration. He is so cute with his star studded pants!
Process: I printed the image on white card stock, colored it with Copic markers, then cut the panel out using the Stitched Mod Rectangle Die from MFT. I also used the fireworks die form MFT on the blue layer. I used a smooth glitter paper behind the fireworks. Because the paper was smooth I colored in some of the rays with a red marker.
Note: Don't use your Copic markers on rough glitter paper. It will shorten the life of your nib!
I use a Copic multiliner pen, size .01, to add texture to his beard. I also used a Sakura clear glitter gel pen on the sparkler in his hand.
The ribbon was a scrap in the bottom of a jar . I knew if I kept it there would be a perfect card for it in the future.😆
The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamps Sentiment Strips collection. These are such a great addition when you need just a little something. The tiny banner was stacked on 3 layers of paper to add a little dimension.
Everything was mounted onto a white card base.
I hope you have a great day and find time to create a little something.
Susan
