Mourning

Sadly, it has been verified that, the beautiful female eagle from the Norfolk Botanical Gardens was killed this morning. She was struck by a plane at a nearby airport. What a sad lesson to have to share with the students who have watched the hatching. I feel like I have lost one of my own pets, yet at the same time, blessed to be able to have witnessed her hatch her eaglets. I only hope they will continue to thrive. Prayers sent on eagle's wings . . .
