Flower Tags

plant tags (640x425)

These cute little fellas have been sitting on my desk for a couple of weeks. They are from Michale’s ; one of their clear stamp sets. I found that they did not stamp very well though. They didn’t seem to take the ink very well and the image  was not as crisp as one would expect. They are cute though.

Every spring I thin out my perennial beds and bring them to school to share. Usually I stick a popsicle stick in the plants to mark them. I thought these would be more fun.

Still thinking spring!!

Monarch Magic

PICT0091      Fall always brings lovely visitors to my garden. This fella was sunning himself on the rocks on a cool morning. I couldn’t have staged a photo this good. Between the mum and the fallen Veronica flower is shouted the end of the season. He was the perfect addition! We managed to raise several Monarchs this year. I let the milkweed grow in my garden (much to the neighbors dismay!) and was rewarded by several eggs. I gave one to my grandson for his school, kept one at home for my husband to monitor during his recuperation time, and took 3 to school. Every one of them was a male! Many of the ones that visited the garden were male as well.

They are off on their way to Mexico, now.  Here is the card I made with the photo.

Papers are Lovely Lilac, Whisper White and Basic Black from SU. Stamp and scallop die are PTI. Chrystals are from Hero Arts. Cuttlebug E

This is a far cry from the weather we have had the last 2 days! Yesterday afternoon we got 2 inches of rain in 1 hour. It hit again later in the evening and took out power for a bit. Then it came down in a torrent again this morning just before 7. DH is watching the forecast and we are under another severe storm warning with possible tornadic activity! Where's the ark! The city hasn't managed to right itself from the last major rain about 3 weeks ago. We are not used to flooding in the city! Some of the garden got beat down by the torrent this morning, but overall seems okay. Some day I will use these as  card elements. Right now the grandchildren are here. Ages 3 years (boy!) and 4 months don't allow for much stamping. Or sleeping!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
