Peaceful

Good Morning!

I am sitting outside my tent, drinking my coffee, enjoying the quiet on the shore of the Saint Lawrence River. I am usually one of the first ones up and around the campsite just to enjoy this time. The shore you can see on the other side is Canada. I love it up here!

This morning I had a little company as I walked the loop. I love watching the geese. They make an awful mess up here but they are such interesting birds.

Will post a bit later this week.

I am still trying to use a huge backlog of scraps and patterned paper. I had no idea I had enmassed such a collection while a demo. Now I have a lot of lovely paper that is no longer available. HRUMPH! I remember the same issue with quilting fabrics years ago when I actually quilted . . . with fabric!
This is a favorite set from SU called A Flower For All Seasons. The paper is all retired now but I'm sure they have something just a lovely now. The scallops are made with PTI's large scallop die. Ribbon is some old satin from Offray. I found spools of it in my sewing stash! Need to raid that more often now that there is such a trend in overlapping sewing notions and other supplies and techniques. Makes perfect sense to me!

Happy mail!

Yahoo! Happy mail in the email today. I had 4 pieces accepted for the January/February issue of Paper Crafts Magazine. That still leaves me with a few pieces that I can post here!

I'm really trying to simplify things a bit, can you tell? This really came out well.

Papers are Kraft, Lemon Tart, Stamper's Select White. Ribbon is PTI Lemon Tart. The dies are all from PTI. I beginning to build quite a collection. I love that they match stamp sets.
The sentiment is also PTI, from Everyday Button Bits.

Wishing you sunshine

Weee-llll now let me tell ya! We have had so hot we were melting, three days of georgeous, a whopper of a storm last night, and today is cool and pretty cloudy.

Sorry for the post delay. I thought I had some scheduled during the time I was in class but I must have missed judged.

Class was great; all computer work. I have been using my eyes so much I don't know which glasses to wear. The results are the dizzies!

Anyway, before I go do the weeks work of housework I neglected and pack for camp, here is a really quick and PLAIN card.

This is photo I took last year, cut down to showcase element.

Layered on Choc. Chip, DP is from Cosmo Cricket, Garden Variety Mini Deck. Just love this size to work with.

All layered on craft. Sentiment is PTI Blooming Button Bits.

Scraps Only Series

I will be taking a computer class all this week so I have scheduled a few of my scrap only projects. Usually I start the summer with a marathon session and do not allow myself to use anything but scraps or things I previously started and stopped. I also have a ton of card cuts that were not used in workshhops when I was a demo. I NEED to use this stuff. It takes tons of space, so here is a weeks worth of cards made with one set of pre-cuts and scraps! Enjoy.

This is the project that started all the scraps! Sorry about the tipped photo. Still learning Photoshop Elements!

Parisian Breeze Series:
Card 1 - Paper: (Parisian Breeze DSP, Chocolate Chip, Basic Black, Whisper White) SU
Stamps: (Nature Silhouettes) SU ; (Mixed Messages) PTI

Background Play

If you follow my work you have probably notices that I don't use much patterned paper. I love it ;I own tons of it;

I have to force myself to use it.
I just like to make my own backgrounds. I used all PTI background stamps for this. They are so easy to use.
The flower is from KLM Designs Decorative circles stamp set. I use a lot of their digitals and now they have clearstamps!

Happy Fourth! Really!

Hello all,
Meant to get this up after I put the grands down for a nap. However, this grandma needed a nap too! So everyone is up now and we are about to be on the go again. Have a safe and pleasant 4th. I hope the weather is as beautiful where you are as it is here.
Now . . . off to play on the swingset!

Happy Fourth!

Hi ya'll,

Home again, jiggity-jig! Here is another retirement card for the second in command at our school. She was raised on the ocean and visits at every opportunity, so this was perfect for her.

It is also a good image for today.
Another shadow box card. These are really fun to make and pretty simple. I added the curtain effect. It really needed something. This seemed to fit the bill.
Enjoy the day and be safe in all you do,

Papertrey Fun

I love it when I get to play. I broke my rule of using only scraps for the summer. I really made this for a magazine call but it didn't make the cut. Anyway. . .this is the first time I had an opportunity to play with this set. It has great potential .

Happy retirement

Good morning,
Today is such a gorgeous day here in New Hampshire. Went for a walk with the littlest one and then a trip to the play ground to swing. It feels like a day for this kind of chair!
This was the card I made for my principal. She decided to retire this year instead of wait. It was a really fun card to make. I've done one before but I decided to add a curtain effect. She owns a B&B in Woodstock, VT. This just looked like it should be for her.
Card front is impressed with PTI Woodgrain plate on Kraft. The image is from Lockhart stamps. Basic Backgrounds: Tintype was used on the curtain and lined (much like in sewing) on the back to cover tape and lace.
Enjoy the beautiful day,

Tuesday Throwdown

Tuesday was a play day for me. I was so inspired by all the challenges and the play time that I couldn't sleep! It was 3:30 before I knew it, even then I couldn't shut off my head! Wednesday I was a vegetable!

Anyway, here is my take on the challenge at Tuesday Throwdown of " Black, White and a splash of color.

I used some of my old SU sets that I just love, Garden Silhouettes and the butterfly from Botanicals. The sentiment is from PTI's Through the Trees.
Papers are Whisper White, Basic Black and Basic Grey, SU.

Now off to play with Grandchildren :}

Tuesday Trigger

Good Morning,

Isn't this pretty. Makes me want to call my best friend and have her come over for coffee (or tea).

This is the TUESDAY TRIGGER over at Moxie Fab World. If you need a little kick of inspiration this is definately the place to visit.

I love the colors and the entire feel of this. I wanted to keep as much of the color and idea the same in my card. I've also been having a ball making all kinds of paper flowers. This gives me an excuse to make some more. I'm avoiding the weeds in the 5 gardens I have in my yard. Overwhelmed with the weeding chore, I can make paper flowers and throw away the "weeds". ;)

I had this paper from Scrapdashery in my stash. When I saw the background in the trigger it immediately came to mind. All other materials are from Papertrey Ink. Enchanted Evening was a perfect grounding mat. The image and sentiment are from Tea for Two, stamped in Hawaiian Shores and Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko). The roses are made from Sweet Blush and Hibiscus Burst. The pearls were colored with Copics to pull in the delicious butterscotch color of the teacup. Border punch is
Fiskars.

Hope you like!
